
Antony is originally from Narrandera in Western NSW. In the late 1990s, Antony was elected President of Swinburne Student Union where he developed strong leadership skills. From his time as a Neighbourhood House Coordinator, he was charged with managing a complex and highly-regulated community service provider successfully operating on limited resources. As the Executive Officer of the Victorian College of the Arts Student Union he managed a small organisation providing a range of services, including: governance and representation support; professional student support and advocacy, as well as arts and cultural activities. Currently, as a Social Justice Officer in the Uniting Church in Australia, Antony engages in public speaking, prepares detailed research papers and briefings for government, as well as developing a network of supporters. He is also the President of a small community legal centre (Social Security Rights Victoria) and a committee member of FairWear Victoria where he is utilising skills acquired in the Graduate Certificate in Social Impact; a qualification in which he was awarded a scholarship, and later an academic prize in the field of social innovation. His theological interests include Eastern Orthodoxy and the social thought of the early church.
