Working With Children

The Uniting Church in Australia is committed to provide safe places where people are cared for, nurtured and sustained.

The Uniting Church commits itself to the care, protection and safety of all children relating with it or its agencies.

We seek to provide a safe environment for children to encounter God, develop relationships as part of a community, and to grow in faith.

Working With Children Check (WWCC) - Victoria

The Victorian government has introduced legislation that requires people working with children to apply for a "Working With Children Check" (WWCC) by 1 July 2008. This includes people within the Uniting Church who are volunteers, ministers (even if they are not directly working with children) and paid employees who work with children.

The Synod has released a Synod Working With Children Check - Victoria Policy and a related guideline.
